History of Red Barn Farms

Red Barn Farms is not your ordinary farm! Oh it has it’s farm roots! It’s a Century Farm - a farm that has been owned and operated by four generations of Meyer family – founded in 1901.

In 2007 Ty & Kay Meyer began the adventure of making it a wedding venue. Take a look at the history, dedication, and love the barn holds in it's century old timber frames.

Ty and I moved back home to the Meyer Farm and Ranch in 2007 with a dream to transform the family barn and homestead into a country event venue.  Our kids Jackson and Maggie were just 5 and 3 years old at the time and didn’t know we were going to embark on this new adventure.  We had our landscaping plans, funds saved up, and passion to make this a reality.  We broke ground in May with our first festival event planned for August.  We made it to our first event which marked a major milestone and over the years we’ve held many more memorable and special events here.   Our family is still very involved with the farm, our daughter Maggie is our main grounds keeper, with help from Ty, Jackson, me, and Ty’s parents Barb and Greg.  We help with preparing for the weddings and are blessed to have wonderful wedding coordinators that help make the day perfect.   After college we moved to many places in Washington and California, and everytime we came home to visit we realized what a special place this was.  We love raising our kids in the same community we were raised, surrounded by family and friends.  We welcome you to our family farm and hope you enjoy the peacefulness and a little slice of country life.

Sarah Cucchiara

Manager

Growing up I was told to find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life. I did just that and became a mom, teacher, and event coordinator. My husband Cory and I love the outdoors, drives on dirt roads, camping and raising our sons. It is a blessing to be apart of the Red Barn Farms family and helping couples make their wedding dreams come true!

Grace Zimmerman

Event Coordinator

While I initially moved to Moscow in 2016 to attend the University of Idaho to get my bachelor's degree in marketing entrepreneurship, I quickly fell in love with the community beyond the campus. I have enjoyed finding my sense of home on the palouse particularly within the hospitality scene, working at The Black Cypress since 2018. On a day off you can likely find me baking bread, in the pottery studio, or starting some diy project around the house. I love any project that lets me organize and create! Being a part of the wedding industry has provided an opportunity to fuel both of those passions and share so many special moments with engaged couples and their families. I am thrilled to get to work with the Red Barn Farms team in the season ahead!

Jenny Balmer

Event Coordinator

I have always had a giving heart and I think that is how I fell so easily in love with the hospitality industry. Being able to help provide a wonderful experience makes my heart so happy and I am looking forward to working with amazing couples as they share their most beautiful memories with their families. Days at home I am busy raising my beautiful family with my husband, Allen. I love to cook, I enjoy any activity outdoors, fitness, and getting lost in a good book. I am so excited for this wedding season ahead and am so blessed to be apart of the Red Barn Farms Family!
